Breakthrough Barriers to Creating Consistent Income: Self-Worth

So many of us struggle with our self-worth especially when it comes to starting a new business! It’s hard putting yourself out there when you don’t feel 100% sure of yourself. Plus, it can be scary getting your first clients. Every single person that I’ve worked with, including myself and my coaches, have all felt like a fraud in the beginning. Trust me, you are not alone in this.
 
But the truth is, you have to start somewhere. Think about how you felt on your first day of a new job. When you start a new job, you go into it knowing there will be a learning curve. You give yourself time and space to learn and make mistakes. But when it comes to working for yourself, you are much harder on yourself. You feel you have to have all of the answers, be perfect and have it all figured out before you can help others.
 
Cut yourself some slack. Trust that the right clients will show up to work with you. You will only attract people who need your specific help. This is how the law of attraction works. Believe in yourself and give yourself space to learn. I know I feel embarrassed when I think back to some of my first nutrition clients. This is a normal part of the process. You have to be willing to put yourself out there in order to grow.
 
Something else that really helps is creating a solid plan or structure for your work. Oftentimes when I ask clients what they plan to do when they get their first client, they’re not really sure. When you aren’t clear, it affects your ability to get clients.
 
However, when you know exactly what you’re going to do when you get your first client, you feel much more confident selling your work. One of the main ways I help my clients shift is I help them develop packages and programs that clearly defines their work, a program they feel really good about selling.

Answer the following questions to help you start designing your signature program.
 
Process to Outline Your Program: You’ll need your journal for this one.
  • What problem/s do you solve? Who needs your help? Focus on a particular person. What is this person struggling with?
 
  • Map out a process for this person. Think of one person in particular and walk that person through a step-by-step process to help them get from point a – z. EX. First we will focus on identifying your ideal client, then we will focus on packaging your services, then I will show you how to market your services, etc. There would also be steps between each of these steps. Get specific.
 
  • Develop a system based on your findings. Break each step into bite size pieces. EX. If the first step is to identify your ideal client, create material around this topic for your client. Write out a step-by-step system to move your client through. Create handouts that will support their journey.
 
Creating this clarity and content alone shifts your confidence level. When my clients are finished creating their program, they see the depth of what they know, feel confident in selling it and have an actual product to offer. Having a signature system is a game changer for sure!
